OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN OF OGUN STATE

Good afternoon, my distinguished compatriots

It is very pertinent and imperative to write this short notice to awaken our government towards addressing the infrastructure deficit in my Senatorial district and draw his attention to the cries of the public.

You will agree with me that it is a verifiable fact that it took the former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode less than four years in office to transform Epe, his hometown. Today, Epe has been turned into an urban city which every indigene of the ancient town is proud of. You will recall that it also took the immediate past Governor SIA less than four years in office to change the face of Egba with world class roads and infrastructure.

But, it is sad and disheartening to watch this government which we laboured to instal agains all odds and life threatening experiences celebrating two years in office without any meaningful transformation in Ogun east in term of standard and first class roads. and infrastructure. Of course, this is one the reasons why we voted massively for our own man during the last election.

Now, my main worry is how do we campaign in Ogun east, with 2023 knocking at our door. What dod we tell our people that we have done for them in terms of insfrastrural development. Look at the state of our roads, the condition of Ilisan-Ago-Iwoye road to connect the state-owned university has been in sorrow state for many years. The road remains unattended to despite the fact that the SSG is from that axis and also the conditions of Sagamu-Ogijo road is very shameful.

Meanwhile, without mincing words,I expect that Iperu to Sapaade road would be a world class standard road, being the hometown of our governor. But all we see for over six months now are mere project signposts. In the same vein, the condition of sagamu-Ikenne road, which is the hometown of late sage, chief Obafemi Awolowo and our indefatigable vice president, is worrisome, while Oke-Owa-Ilese road, down to itele is also a disgrace. It is particualrly very painful for all of us that campaigned vigorously for the party in 2019 with great expectations that things nothing has changed in our communities.

I want to seize this opportunity to call on the governor to swiftly do something on those roads that i have listed before the campaign season or another political annals will be Opened in the state.

Our people are more conscious and they will not listen to any excuse from the government.

Thank you and accept the assurances of my highest regards.

Salami Oluwaseun
Sagamu Local Government
