The results were announced by the National Vice-Chairman of the party Southwest, Deacon Samson Olalere.

Eight hundred and twelve (812) delegates were accredited by the party from the 326 wards in the 21 local government areas in the state.

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has congratulated the APGA candidate on the feat.

Accoding to the Governor, Soludo’s emergence was a sign that the party was one united family. He assurred that the party would win the November 6 polls. Some of the major contenders for the ticket were allegedly disqualified by the party before now, to pave the way for Soludo.

Recall that All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, on Tuesday, held its primary election to elect the candidate for the November 6 governorship election amid tight security.

Delegates from the 326 Wards in the 21 local government areas of the state numbering 812 were accredited at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square before they moved to the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, the venue of the voting.

But the notable absentees at the venue were the angry aspirants such as Chukwuma Umeoji who was unjustly disqualified by the party and Dr Akachukwu Nwankpo, who was cleared to contest.

The names of those cleared by the party to contest was announced by the Chairman of the Electoral Panel, Deacon Sampson Segun Olalere.
