Yet-to-be identified gunmen night killed 12 persons in Kuru village of Jos south Local Council of Plateau State, on Sunday.
The attack, which took place abou 10:30pm, also left five others seriously injured.
Chairman of Jos South Local Government, Hon Gideon Dandereng, confirmed the attack to newsmen in Jos.
He condemned the unwarranted attack on peace-loving and hardworking citizens.
He also called for calm and appealed to security operatives to go after the perpetrators.
