Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde yesterday inaugurated the 65km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin Road in Ibadan.
He performed the inauguration alongside his Benue State counterpart, Dr. Samuel Ortom, as part of activities to mark his second anniversary in office.
The ceremony was held at Akerele Local Government in Ibadan and Iseyin Town in Iseyin Local Government.
Makinde said the road cost N9.9billion or N152million per kilometre for total reconstruction, adding that going by the quality of work done by the contractor, Kopek Construction Ltd, it is expected to last at least 10 years without any rehabilitation.
The Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin Road is the link between Ibadan and Oke-Ogun, the state’s ‘food basket’.
